3Shape is only as good as the case bag you build. A clean TRIOS scan with an empty Rx still stalls in intake.
Build the case as if the technician cannot call you
Tooth numbers, material, shade, and due date belong in the case, not in a later text. If the file arrives at 6 p.m., we should be able to design without waiting until morning.
Attach photos to the case when shade or smile line matters. Do not assume we have access to your practice management images.
Scan habits that survive design
Fill holes at the margin before you send. Include opposing and bite. If you rescanned one tooth, make sure the bite still matches the new mesh.
Toggle to monochrome and look at the margin the way we will. Color texture hides the gaps that become open margins.
What we do when the file is almost good
We do not silently “fix” a hole over a finish line. We ask. That is slower once and faster forever.
If you are a regular 3Shape sender in New Jersey, we will learn your defaults — but we still need the exceptions written on that case.
FAQ
Do you accept 3Shape Communicate and exported files?
Yes. Phoenix Dental Tech works in an open digital workflow. Send via Communicate or export — just keep the Rx attached either way.
