Most implant remakes we see start with a scan body that was not fully seated, was the wrong library, or was scanned through blood. None of those are milling problems.
Not seated is the number-one miss
A scan body that is one thread short looks fine in color mode. In the mouth the crown sits high or the screw does not engage cleanly.
Radiograph or tactile confirmation before you scan. If you are unsure, reseat and scan again — it is faster than a remake.
Library and brand mismatches
The lab can only align what you name. “Nobel-compatible” is not a platform. Write the exact brand, connection, and diameter.
If you borrowed a scan body from another kit, tell us. We would rather ask a question than mill to the wrong geometry.
Mesh quality around the connection
Blood, saliva, and overlapping gingiva hide the scan-body geometry the software uses to lock the library. Dry, retract, and inspect the mesh in monochrome before you send.
Phoenix Dental Tech rejects or queries files when the scan-body landmarks are incomplete. That is cheaper than a non-passive restoration.

Should I leave the scan body in the file as a separate alignment?
Capture a clear scan of the seated scan body, then the tissue. Do not merge two visits if the scan body was swapped or reseated in between.
